Youth Boys Programs
Since 2010 Santa Barbara Lacrosse Assocation has administered a wide variety of lacrosse programs for boys, including, PE classes, camps clinics, workshops, leagues, and travel teams. All SBLA programs have been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For more current information on boys lacrosse programs locally, please contact SB Riptide Lacrosse or SB Hotshots Lacrosse Club.
Since 2010, the year SBLA was founded, there has been a Spring League for boys ages K-8. It is open to all players regardless of experience, and "rookies" are always welcome. Practices are twice a week starting at the end of February. Games are on Saturdays from mid March to mid May. Equipment and scholarship support is available. The status of the 2021 season is has yet to be determined due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Winter Box Lacrosse
SBLA teams up with with outside organizations such as SB Riptide Lacrosse and SB Hotshots Lacrosse Club to provide an annual Winter Box Lacrosse League, open to players in grades 5-12, at Earl Warren Showgrounds. The league normally runs from December through January and practices and games usually take place during the week after school and in the early evenings. "Box" is a great way to sharpen skills and get in shape for the spring field lacrosse season. The status of the 2020-2021 league is unclear due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
